A friend of mine was in Puerto Rico, and I drew this for her. I quite like it!
I need to work on my cats. And other species. This came out well, though.
I love this picture!
This was the start of my recent trend of drawing with photo models. It started off with a bang! I gave her a very different haircut, and if I'm honest, I really like it. Might keep it for her.
Hopefully there will be more like this in the future!
Drew this in a cafe. Came out... funky. All twisty and psychedelic or something like that. Interesting; wonder what's in the coffee there...
Colleen, all laying out. Ambitious for me, a different pose. Didn't come out super or anything (her torso! it's so long!) but it's okay.
I think I'm saying that too much. But filling these text boxes is hard!
A stereotypical tourist-type shot of Roxanne. I quite like the angle and the fun detail.
That hand, on the other hand... well, practice makes perfect. Besides, I think it would look better if it were shaded.
A quick, fun drawing of a... fennec fox? That was the intent, though it didn't really come out (the ears of a fennec are how big!?) Maybe a coyote?
I don't know, but I do think this drawing came out quite well, and I really like her. I hope to draw more of her... you know, if I can figure out what she is...
Funny story. So, sometime in middle January I was showing my mom my sketchbook, and she starts to ask me something... knowing my mother, I flinch, thinking it will be a critique of my art. But no, this time, it was that I was still signing my pictures "11" when it's 2012. ::Head. Hit. Keyboard.:: I mean, what kind of idiot would even put the date in their signature!?!? Oh...
So, what would a sane person do? I mean, I have been relatively prolific, meaning I had a good number of images dated incorrectly. Post them anyway, maybe with a notation? Make a single new signature and photoshop it over them? Or do what I did; scan every image, remove the second "1," print a sheet of all the signatures, draw a bunch of "2"'s, then rescan the sheet, and manually add in the replacement signatures to each image.
Fun times. And to top it all off, I'm not even sure this drawing was done in 2012! It was either this one or the next one... but geeze...
Roxanne on the train, looking out the window. Fun to use the whole page, although I'm not all that happy with this. Proportions and line strength are off, and a foxface against a window is... difficult. Still, it is what it is. Was very difficult to clean up without loosing too much detail.
Till next time!
By the way, did you ever get the feeling you were living in the future? 2012... geeeze...
Was this my first drawing of 2012, or was it this one? Whatever, doesn't matter.
Made during a very cold spell. Obviously. Not happy with the expression. I'm also bad at motion/shaking lines. But that's what practice is for.
A brief interlude to post this, one day late, as seems to be my MO. Well, I did draw it yesterday, so that has to be some kind of excuse...
I really like this, and it was a lot of fun. Only thing I'm not happy about was my job cleaning it up. I sometimes wonder about cleaning my pencil drawings in Photoshop; I like the look, but sometimes wonder if I loose too much detail. I guess what I wonder is if I should keep the pencil work and the pen work very separate, and not try to make pencil look more like pen. But I don't know.
