Was this my first drawing of 2012, or was it this one? Whatever, doesn't matter.
Made during a very cold spell. Obviously. Not happy with the expression. I'm also bad at motion/shaking lines. But that's what practice is for.
A brief interlude to post this, one day late, as seems to be my MO. Well, I did draw it yesterday, so that has to be some kind of excuse...
I really like this, and it was a lot of fun. Only thing I'm not happy about was my job cleaning it up. I sometimes wonder about cleaning my pencil drawings in Photoshop; I like the look, but sometimes wonder if I loose too much detail. I guess what I wonder is if I should keep the pencil work and the pen work very separate, and not try to make pencil look more like pen. But I don't know.
Sorry for the lack of updates! A bunch of stuff has gotten in the way, including some artistic stuff.
Take this image, for example. It was actually drawn a few months ago, but upon reflection, I realized she needed weight lines to show that she was on a bed... not standing in some ethereal plane.
Well, anyway, I think it came out pretty well. That's her hair over the right bosom, by the way, something which would probably be clearer in color.
Many more updates to come. Take care!
A fun, silly Christmas image.
Funny story: my whole idea in drawing this was to draw a character wearing a Santa hat. After I finished drawing, put my stuff away, and stood up, I realized I had forgotten to draw the hat! The whole reasons I had drawn the picture in the first place! Oh well. Thought about adding it, but I think it's okay as it is.
A fox in the style of Sergkz (or at least I hope that's his moniker, he also goes by Kejzfox). I love his style, and it gives me a great opportunity to try a new look.
This one is kind of a mix between our styles. I really think it came out well!
Sweatshirts and visible bras seem so 80's! Love the way this came out.
Maybe she should be listening to some Paula Abdul? On second thought, never mind...
It's funny, when I drew this, I didn't like it. But now, I think it came out really well. I think it's because I didn't have a clear vision when I started, just a rough idea (I saw a trenchcoat, and I wanted a different facial expression). And it all worked out pretty well, if you ask me.
So, I wanted to try a pose kind of curled up in space... bored of the same old, same old. So, well, here one is!
Also, I've been working on cleaning my sketches. Think I'm getting better.
So this was an experiment in trying to color this image. It's just practice, and while it's not perfect, I think it came out pretty well.
Still playing with the best methods, etc. Also, this took way too long to do, but I assume that would come down with practice.
This was a lot of fun: Michelle, who works at my local coffee shop, asked me very nicely for a drawing. I was so flattered! I asked her what her favorite animal was, and she didn't have an answer... I told her that means she was getting a fox. And a fox, she got.
