Third times the charm. I can find problems if I look for them, but I have to say I really love how this one came out! It was one of those drawings that when I finished my very rough blue pencil outline, I said to myself, "Wow, that's good, now don't screw it up!" Yeah, no pressure and all that. Also gave me a lot of practice with my coloring skills. I like ponies for that reason, simple, bright colors make my life easy. Not sure I like the purple tuft on top of her mane; the show usually only gives her three colors above her ears, but I, well, I put four. Thinking of shifting every color up one, and placing a green stripe on the bottom. Need to think about it.
But I'm rambling. As with before, ink on paper then cleaned and colored digitally. If you're interested, click here to check out the process! (Well, I think it's fun, anyway...)
Sarah in her natural habitat. Now this is what I'm talking about. Got her mousy characteristics down! And her nerdy ones, too, I hope ;). The pose is good, too.
Colleen, sitting on a stool.
I'm quite happy with this one. Still playing with her new hairstyle. Not 100% sure I like it... well, let me change that; I like the hairstyle, I'm just not sure it's for her. Makes her look much more- I don't know, TV-presenter-y?, which is fine, but might not be her look.
Let's just say she's trying a new look. I can go with that. It does look quite good on her, at second glance. And it's not saying like I'm saying that just to impress her!
...or because she's standing behind me threatening to hurt me... no, nothing like that at all...
The 80's live! At least, for this so far unnamed vixen, they apparently do.
I don't have much to add other than that I absolutely love this drawing; I think it just came out very well.
I love this picture!
This was the start of my recent trend of drawing with photo models. It started off with a bang! I gave her a very different haircut, and if I'm honest, I really like it. Might keep it for her.
Hopefully there will be more like this in the future!
A brief interlude to post this, one day late, as seems to be my MO. Well, I did draw it yesterday, so that has to be some kind of excuse...
I really like this, and it was a lot of fun. Only thing I'm not happy about was my job cleaning it up. I sometimes wonder about cleaning my pencil drawings in Photoshop; I like the look, but sometimes wonder if I loose too much detail. I guess what I wonder is if I should keep the pencil work and the pen work very separate, and not try to make pencil look more like pen. But I don't know.
Okay, if I may, I think this turned out awesome. I have to admit upfront that I got the outfit and pose from another drawing which, at the moment, I cannot find to attribute (sorry, artist! If you see this, drop me a line so I can credit you!) It was an experiment in clothing (worked great!) and body pose (worked pretty good!).
Besides, it's totally something Colleen would wear. For Halloween or something... I don't think she'd actually want to be sailor scout all the time...
But I'd certainly watch this TV show!
Rox, leaning on a desk.
I absoluetly love this one! It came out exactly as I had hoped. Done without any sort of model or photo reference, too. A *lot* of fun. I hope to maybe color it at some point, hence the lack of shading.
Colleen, sitting on the hood. Though I'm not sure she'd really be caught dead in that top... the pants, well, sure!
I just love this one! I took the basic form and inspiration from another drawing, but I hope I made it my own. Was a lot of fun.
